Places of interest

- Kotor
Ancient city with a magnificent fortress. Spectacular view coming down from the mountain road from Centinje. Cruise around the fjord-like bay or climb more than 1,000 steps to the fortress above the Venetian town of Kotor for stunning views over the bay.

- Skadar Lake
The largest lake in the Balkans reaching down to the Albanian border. Designated as a national park. Take a boat ride out onto the lake and if you are lucky you may spot some pelicans. Afterwards lunch on the terrace of the Pelican restaurant in Virpazar.

- Budva
Ancient city with golden sandy beaches. The biggest sandy beaches are at Budva and Becici. Walk around the medieval walls which encircle the old town of Budva.

- Herceg Novi
Ancient fort town with bars and cafes. Try the Sports Bar down by the marina.

- Cetinje Monastry
Ancient monastry near Centinje.

- Sveti Stefan
Tiny fishing village island once frequented by the rich and famous now trying to reestablish itself as a top tourist destination.

- Dubrovnik
Take a day trip to Dubrovnik in Croatia - less than 2 hours away by car. Walk around the ramparts or visit the aquarium in a medieval fort.

- Tara Canyon
Reputed to be the second deepest in the world.

- Eating Out
For high quality food try the Stari Millne located half way between Perast and Kotor (reputed to be one of the best restaurants in Montenegro). Or the Catovica Mlini Restaurant (on the way to Perast).

- Drinking
Try the Sports Bar overlooking the marina in Herceg Novi. For a more active night life try the clubs / bars in Igalo.
